A place of Hope for the community
House of Mercy is located in a former Presbyterian church that has been transformed into a center of service, hope, and community support. Every part of the property serves a purpose: the first floor provides food assistance, the second floor is home to our local thrift store, and the surrounding grounds have been transformed into a community garden.
Together, these spaces encompass the heart of House of Mercy and allow us to meet practical needs while empowering and supporting our community.
Growing hope
From the food center to the thrift store and the garden, every part of this former church property works together as House of Mercy—serving our community with practical support, dignity, and hope.
Who We Are
Community Food Center
The first floor of the former church serves as our community food center. Here, shelves are stocked with canned goods, groceries, and essential food items that are distributed to individuals and families in need.
Through our partnership with Food Bank of America, we are able to help provide food assistance to our community. The space also includes a kitchen, allowing us to prepare and serve meals for those in need.
The Family Garden
Surrounding the church is our Community Family Garden. This space is dedicated to growing fresh, organic produce that can be shared with families and individuals in need.
The garden is also a place of learning and community. Through it, we hope to teach and encourage others to grow, cultivate, and harvest their own food.
“Second Chance“ Thrift Store
The second floor of the church is home to our local thrift store. Clothing and other donated items are made available to the community, while clothing is also provided directly to individuals and families in need.
Every purchase helps support the mission of House of Mercy, as all proceeds from the thrift store are reinvested into the organization, allowing us to continue providing resources and assistance to the community.
